Why a Reputable Contractor is so Important...
What should you look for?
Does the company provide a written proposal and a written guarantee?
Is the company covered by liability insurance to insure the proper installation of your system? Are the company's employees covered by workers' compensation insurance in case they are injured while working on your job? Does their contract or proposal require you to maintain your own fire, tornado and other necessary insurance. This should send up a red flag.
Does the company provide continued training to its employees to keep them up to date on current codes and equipment?
Does the company have a separate service department for customer service? Does the company have office personnel to assist you with any questions or problems?
Does the company have radio or cellular phone dispatched vehicles?
Does the company maintain a service record on all customers equipment?
Does the company offer preventative maintenance and extended warranty agreements?
Does the comany do follow-up calls and customer surveys to constantly be aware of customer satisfaction?
Is the company's owner always available for the customer?
